| GDC Drass celebrates Independence Day | | 
Kargil, August 15 (Scoop News)-Government Degree College Drass today celebrated the 75th Independence Day with great patriotic fervour and zeal.
As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Har Ghar Tiranga, the program was started with hoisting of the national flag by principal GDC Drass Dr Amjad Ali Abassi, in presence of BDC Chairman Noor Mohammad, faculty members and students.
Speaking on the occasion, Noor Mohammad congratulated the staff members and students to mark the 75th year of Independence.
He said that the sacrifices of the freedom fighters should be remembered by all and we all should work towards progress and development of this country.
Dr Amjad Ali Abassi congratulated people on the eve of Independence. He urged students to realize, understand and cherish this freedom and work towards a progressive nation.
He also explained the ethos and themes of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. He highlighted the series of programs conducted by the college under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav such as freedom walk, flag distribution, quiz competition etc.
In the end, Mustafa Ali, Director for Physical Education and Sports also extended greetings to all teaching and non-teaching staff, students and people of Drass on Independence Day and thanked everyone for their participation in the event.
