| Sopore Police arrests drug peddler; psychotropic substances recovered | |
Srinagar, January 15 (Scoop News)-Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Sopore have arrested a drug peddler and recovered psychotropic substances from his possession.
On 11th January 2021, Police Station Dangiwacha had arrested a drug peddler at Ladoora crossing and recovered psychotropic substances from his possession. Accordingly case FIR No. 09/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered in PS Dangiwacha and investigation was set into motion.
During the course of investigation, officers questioned the arrested drug peddler who reveals the involvement of one more individual identified as Imitiyaz Ahmad Mir resident of Ladoora Rafiabad in drug dealings in the area.
Subsequently, officers have arrested Imitiyaz Ahmad Mir and recovered 12 bottles of Codeine Phosphate and 08 strips of Spasmoproxyvon Plus from his possession. He has been shifted to Police Station Dangiwacha where he remains in custody.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
