| General training organised for employees of 18 Dept. regarding Election 2024 | |
Leh, April 22 (Scoop News)-In view of the forthcoming General Election 2024, general training for the employees of 18 Departments was organised at SSK, Leh on April 22.
The training session was provided by Senior Lecturer in the Education Department, Rigzin Namgyail and the Senior Librarian, Libraries and Research Department, LobzangGura Susheel.
The training session highlighted the full understanding of the laws, provisions and latest instruction of the Election Commission of India, proper understanding of EVM/VVPAT functioning, how to apply for postal ballot, EDC if required and lastly how to fill various statutory and non-statutory forms.
During the training it was informed that a polling party consists of a presiding officer,1st polling officer,2nd polling officer and 3rd polling officer and it also covered the roles and responsibilities of the polling staff.
There was also a briefing on how to conduct a mock poll and it also covered topics such as the sealing of the control unit, setting up of the EVM and VVPAT, and special situations such as voting by blind or infirm voters.
It was emphasised in the end that the poll should close at the appointed time.
