JK Fire services organizes "Ensure Fire Safety - Contribute towards nation building

Jammu/Srinagar, April 20 (Scoop News)-Essay and drawing competitions on this years theme, "Ensure Fire Safety - Contribute towards nation building" marked conclusion of Fire Service Week- 2024. Alok Kumar-IPS, DF&ES emphasized for continuing the public awareness programmes through out the year to create Har Ghar Fire Fighter.
On the concluding day of Fire Service Week, 2024, a number programmes were organized at Range and Command Headquarter level. Main function was held at Headquarters Gandhi Nagar Jammu. An Essay cum Speech competition was held in which 29 students from 8 different schools of Jammu participated. The theme of the competition was "Ensure Fire Safety- Contribute towards Nation Building". Samradhi a 6th class student of Mahavir Jain School, Rani Park Jammu secured Ist position and was awarded cash prize of Rs. 1500/- and a trophy. 2nd prize of Rs. 1200/- was bagged byVanshika Thakur, 7th class student of Oriental Hr. Sec. School Kachi Chawni whileas 3rd position with cash prize of Rs. 1000/- was secured by Suhani a 9th class student of Bal Bharti Public High School Channi Himat.
A cultural program was also held at F&E HQRs Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. Alok Kumar IPS (ADGP) Director Fire & Emergency Services J&K Jammu presided over the function.
Earlier, a welcome address was presented by RK Raina Dy.Director Jammu.
On the concluding ceremony, the officers and officials of various Commands pledged to continue the awareness programmes as per the guidelines and directions already issued by Alok Kumar (IPS), worthy Director Fire & Emergency Services.
While speaking in the main function at Gandhi Nagar Jammu, Alok Kumar IPS ADGP Director Fire and Emergency Services appreciated the officers and jawans for conducting the week long activities in a befitting manner. He stressed upon all the officers and jawans to continue the awareness programmes through out the year to create Har Ghar Fire Fighter to minimize the losses due to fires. The Director also appreciated the role of Medical Officers of the department as well as the doctors from various medical specialities in conducting free medical camps besides first aid training to jawans. He also awarded trophies and certificates to the winning as well as runner up teams of Volley Ball, Tug of War, Ladder drill and Fire Tender drill. Among the participants, prominent were R. K. Raina, Deputy Director;
Dr Manju Medical officer, Sanjay Nagri Accounts officer, Himanshu Gandotra Assistant Director and other officers besides office staff and jawans.
